Leek College students are taking part in the second Leek Twinning Committee Fashion Show following the success of last year's event.
The show is in the Churnet Room at Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek, at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 20.
It is being held to raise money to continue to build links with Leek's twin town of Este in Italy.
Anne-Lise Fraser and Gwen Emery, course co-ordinators at Leek College, will be taking part in the show with Anne Morris, who owns Anne Morris ladies wear in Getliffes Yard.
All of the students are designing fashion items based on themes set for each course.
The first national diploma art and design students are working on the theme of This Is Me.
Students have to design a piece of clothing which incorporates something about them.
Gwen is leading them in their work. She said: "It is a confidence building exercise designed to encourage the students because when we know them and what they like we can start to bring out their best.
"They are looking forward to being able to work together as a team.
"It is hard work and stressful but it really paid off last year and the students were a real credit to us and I'm sure they will be this year."
Anne-Lise Fraser said they wanted to give all the students an opportunity to take part.
And, all the work they produce for the show will go towards their marks.
She added: "The first year students have been working on the theme of Wrapped In Colour. The second year students travelled to Este in October and got their influences from Italian architecture. They also visited Venice which was a very inspirational and successful trip and the students really enjoyed it.
"The foundation course students have also done some work towards it."
Some of the students taking part in next week's show revealed what provided the inspiration for their designs.
Marie Lees, aged 17, said: "I wanted the design to have bright colours and for it to stand out. We went to a Vivienne Westwood exhibition in Sheffield which really helped to gather ideas for the dress."
Camilla Gibson, aged 16, said: "I wanted to expand the original design concept so used lots of different art mediums in the design such as netting, mascara and rafia. I'm excited about the show and being able to model my own dress."
Rory Caton-Tanner, aged 17, said: "I'm working with fellow student Ann Mann. We're helping to organise the choreography and music for the show and making sure everyone gets ready in time.
"I travelled to Este and have incorporated some ideas from Venetian architecture into my jacket design. I used the Rialto Bridge in Venice. I'm studying fashion and will go on to university to do it next year."
Rachel Bailey, aged 15, said: "My design is based on a piece of saxophone music called Take Five. I play the piano and saxophone and music is a big part of my life.
"And I got the idea for the style of the jeans from similar designs I'd seen in magazines.
"I was also wearing a T-shirt, which was designed by fellow student Dave Overton, which had Popeye's head drawn on in pastel by himself because he likes the cartoon."
Tickets are available from Leek College reception or Anne Morris Ladies Wear for £5 per adult and £3 concessions.
